"Takin' on the Jellies, Dude!"

...as Crush would say to Marlin in Finding Nemo.

 "Takin' on online photo-sharing!"
...as any Web 2.0 geek would tell you.

Amateur photographers revel in online photo sharing sites, such as Flickr, Picasa Web albums, Photo Bucket, and others.

Publishing pics online validates the artistic and creative efforts by young and old!

Picasa
In the classroom, students can link to photo streams from users who travel around the world, capturing landscapes and wildlife in all their glory.  Images of natives from different cultures, at events one may never attend, are posted online for anyone to experience.

Attribution licensed photos allow student to use images in Word flyers, Science lab reports, English book research, History timelines, Home Economics party planning, Foreign Language essays, Art Appreciation presentations, and more!

Appreciation, understanding and tolerance of
cultural similarities and differences
are highlighted and exposed through photo sharing.

Whether students are studying volcanoes, underwater life,
desert habitats, tribal rites, or simply need images
to practice collage, photo effects, or movie making,
the Web 2.0 transformation makes it possible to share images.

What are you waiting for?
Join online photo-sharing and take part in photographic communities of interest!
Create an account, upload the picture stories you want to share,
select your copyright preferences, and
"take on the jellies, Dude!"

  1. Awesome Louise! You combined great a super jellyfish photo and tons of information into a very attractive post!

I was thrilled to find movie maker late last year, so all this new stuff has put me in vacation movie heaven! I just got into Picnik just in time for it to close, so I am anxious to see what new site Google opens up, I am sure it will be impressive.

I consider myself very lucky that you signed up for this PLS course at the same time as me, I am learning a ton from good examples set by you- thanks! Kellie
